SeaWheeze uses a colour-coded Event Alert System (EAS) to communicate course and weather conditions leading up to and throughout race day.
Alert levels range from GREEN (Low) to YELLOW (Moderate), RED (High), and BLACK (Extreme), based on weather forecasts and other event conditions.
Participants should familiarize themselves with the alert levels before race day, remain attentive to event communications, and be prepared for changing conditions.
Know the Alert Levels
Conditions can change leading up to and throughout race day. Review the alert levels below so you’ll know what to expect and how to respond should conditions change.
Green
Low
Good conditions for running. Continue to hydrate, fuel, and pace appropriately.
Yellow
Moderate
Use caution. Conditions may affect performance and participant comfort.
Red
High
Challenging conditions. Participants should adjust pace and take additional precautions.
Black
Extreme
Extreme conditions may significantly impact participant safety and event operations.
Stay Informed
Event Alert System updates will be shared through participant emails, event announcements, and colour-coded signage throughout race weekend. On race day, look for Event Alert flags at Jack Poole Plaza and at Water & Aid Stations along the course.
